Frequently asked questions

Use the original gray USB-C cable and a 5V power supply to charge the camera. During normal charging, the indicator light at the back will be yellow. When fully charged, the green light will stay on. If charging issues persist, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

Check that the camera has enough battery. If it was off for a long time, charge it using the provided cable. The power indicator should turn yellow while charging. After charging, press the power button once to turn it on. The indicator light should flash or remain solid depending on status. If it still won't turn on, try resetting the camera by pressing and holding the reset button or the power button for 5–10 seconds, then try again. If none of these work, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

To reset the camera, use a pin or a pointed object to press and hold the reset button on the camera for 5 seconds. The camera will automatically reset and restart. If none of these work, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

If your camera is not charging, it may be due to an incompatible cable, loose connection, or incompatible adapter.

Steps to troubleshoot: Bring the camera indoors and use the included charging cable from the package. The charging voltage should be 5V/2A. Check connections: Make sure the cable is securely connected to both the camera and the power outlet — no loose or wobbly connections. Check adapter: Try a different adapter (but continue using the included gray cable) — this sometimes resolves the issue.

Charging indicator: If the power button shows a yellow light, the camera charges normally. Charge for at least 2 hours before turning it on. If the indicator does not light up or shows a different color, please contact our support team at birdlovers@birdschoice.com.

Note: If the camera charges normally via cable but not when connected to a solar panel, please check whether the solar panel is functioning properly.

If charging still fails, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

When using the livestream, keep your phone away from the camera, as they can interfere with each other when placed too close together, causing a howling noise. Using headphones can also eliminate noise feedback. Lowering the volume or putting a protective case on the phone may also help reduce feedback. If the problem persists, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

A weak Wi-Fi signal may cause the livestream connection to be interrupted or fail to connect. You can check the Wi-Fi signal at the camera's location (use the app's network check tool). If the app stays on the connecting screen, exit the app and restart it. If the problem persists after these steps, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

Ensure the camera's battery is sufficient, and the camera is powered on. Check the camera's Wi-Fi signal. A weak connection may cause the photos captured by the camera to be unavailable on your phone. You can test this by viewing the livestream or using the app's network check tool. The birds may not have discovered your feeder yet, or they may be hesitant to approach. Provide food that birds like near the camera. Plant native shrubs or trees to create a bird-friendly environment. Place the camera where birds are likely to visit and reduce other movement or interference. Note: The camera will not capture photos while the app remains on the device page. To test the camera, please exit the app. If you still get no photos, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

Trigger sensitivity is set too high- Reduce motion detection sensitivity in the app.Leaves, insects, or light changes may trigger the camera- Adjust the camera angle to avoid leaves or strong light. The camera is installed in an open area or facing frequent movement- Reposition the camera to reduce false triggers. If the issue continues, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

In most cases, failure to connect the livestream is caused by a weak Wi-Fi signal. To resolve this issue, please try the following steps: Make sure your phone has a stable network connection, and bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Make sure the Chirpful App has permission to use your phone's Bluetooth and location. Place the camera within 50 feet of the router. If needed, restart the camera by turning it off and on again. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.

When the camera is connected to Wi-Fi, go to the camera's settings and tap Network. Tap 'test network' to check your Wi-Fi signal. If the signal is weak, move the camera closer to the router or improve the Wi-Fi coverage. For more details, see 'Installation Distance' above. If the issue still persists, please contact our customer support at birdlovers@birdschoice.com for further assistance.
